Cast a line where Doc once reeled in his legendary 20‑pound catfish! Prizes for biggest bass, most bluegill, and “young angler” catch. We’ll clean the morning’s haul together, then fire up the fryers for a golden fish supper—sides, sweet tea, and stories on us. Bring your own pole or borrow one of ours. Families and first‑timers welcome.
Trailhead at the cabin, looping through Shawnee National Forest
As dusk settles, we’ll set out with vintage‑style lanterns along the historic Trail of Tears ridge. Guides will share the route’s Native history, local folklore, and Doc’s own backwoods yarns. We’ll finish at the lakeside fire ring for hot cider, s’mores, and live fiddle music under the stars. Moderate 2‑mile loop; sturdy shoes advised.
